Skoda Enyaq facelift revealed in the style of Elroq - the grille is gone

Thanks to improved aerodynamics, the maximum range increases to almost 370 miles

It was already known that the Skoda Enyaq would receive a facelift at the beginning of 2025, which would give the car the look of the Elroq. Now Skoda is revealing the pictures and giving the data. The electric SUV is also improving in this respect - in the future it will have a maximum range of almost 370 miles.

From the front, the new Skoda Enyaq almost looks like the Elroq. One of the most important changes is that Skoda has now done away with the grille. Instead, there is a black panel ("Tech-Deck Face"). This is illuminated in the pictures - just like the First Edition version of the Elroq. As on the Elroq, the Skoda lettering replaces the brand logo with the Indian headdress and arrow.

The new front and aerodynamically optimised rims (19 to 21 inches) improve aerodynamics. The normal Enyaq now achieves a drag coefficient of 0.245, while the coupé has a drag coefficient of 0.225. In terms of dimensions, the length has increased to 4.66 metres, while the other dimensions remain practically unchanged. The boot capacity also remains unchanged at 585 to 1,710 litres for the normal Enyaq and 570 to 1,610 litres for the Enyaq Coupé.

There are only minor changes at the rear - if any at all. As before, there will be a Sportline version with larger wheels (20 or 21 inches), a 15 mm lowered suspension and various black accents. The RS models will be even sportier, although these will only be launched later in the year.

There will also be few changes to the cockpit. The small 5-inch instrument display and the 13-inch touchscreen as well as an optional head-up display with augmented reality function will remain. The touchscreen may have been improved; other Group models have illuminated sliders. However, it is not possible to judge this from our low-resolution preview images.

Otherwise, there are now six different "Design Selections" for the interior. The standard equipment has been expanded to include keyless access, heated seats and steering wheel, a three-zone automatic air conditioning system, blind spot and exit warning (Side Assist), predictive cruise control (ACC) and a traffic jam assistant. In addition, remote-controlled parking and the storage of individual parking manoeuvres are now also possible. As before, steering with variable ratio (progressive steering) and adaptive dampers (DCC) are available as options.

As far as batteries and drives are concerned, the 60 series version is returning with the old 204 PS engine (APP310), which was recently discontinued. Otherwise, there are initially only the familiar 85 and 85x versions, both of which have the new 130 PS APP550 motor at the rear. The 85x all-wheel-drive model features the familiar 110 PS asynchronous motor from Magna, but the system output is limited to 286 PS. The RS variants will be launched later in the year.

The old model has not been configurable since December, but the new one should be available to order in January. Skoda plans to start deliveries in March. Prices have not yet been revealed. Until December, the Enyaq 50 was available in the UK from £36,970, the 85 from £44,540, and the 85X from £48,406.

The bottom line

We think it's a good idea for Skoda to do away with the grille on its electric models - an electric car doesn't need one, as we've already written several times. It is also understandable that Skoda is endeavouring to give its electric models a uniform appearance. But the more similar the Enyaq becomes to its little brother Elroq, the more we have to fear for the future of the Enyaq.
