Rudolph, Santa's reindeer: Why buy it and why not

It withstands the cold of the troposphere and has a range of a billion miles

Over the past 365 days we have tried everything: SUVs, supercars, hatchbacks and luxury cars. Only one thing was missing, and that was the world's most extreme means of transport, which is leaving its garage at the North Pole right now to set off on a trip around the planet.

And so, thanks to the powerful means of the Motor1.com network, we managed to get our hands on one of the most exclusive vehicles around!

"What's it like outside?"

Millions of years of stylistic evolution have shaped the design of a Santa's Reindeer for maximum efficiency. The dimensions are compact, with a length of no more than two and a half metres. There is pleasant natural fibre upholstery you can sink your fingers into unlike any Rolls-Royce Spectre.

At the front, the bony 'bumpers' serve to conveniently defend the car, while at the rear, the small tail acts as a parking sensor and beacon of happiness!

Premium equipment

Mother Nature has equipped Santa's Reindeer with a wealth of gadgets and features. The completely wireless navigation system integrates the perception of the earth's magnetic field, wind reading and geographical memory, as well as the ability to see ultraviolet light, an exclusive for this mammal model.

Reindeer can see ultraviolet light

For a little extra, Rudolph's nose can turn red, LED, to increase visibility at night, and also the Christmas spirit. Finally, for the 'trailer', also known as a sleigh, there are many different styles but make sure there is room for all the presents!

How does it go and how much does it consume?

The four-wheel drive and steerable rear hooves are a super-efficient powertrain, for torque that skyrockets when all nine reindeer are in formation. The sprint is scorching, less than 1 second for 0-60 mph, and the top speed, calibrated to deliver all the presents overnight, exceeds 41 million mph!

Fills up with 2 kg of food daily

And, by the way, Santa's reindeer is undoubtedly the most efficient means of transport in existence with a daily fill-up of 2 kg of leaves, berries and moss, it can travel up to 2 billion miles in a single night, depending on where the children's homes are located. The exhaust emissions are not zero, but the particulate matter has fertilising properties!

Alternatives and shortcomings

Another possible solution could be the witch's broom, which is more manoeuvrable in tight spaces and easier to double-park for deliveries. The seat, however, is not very ergonomic and has little protection from aerodynamic noise.

A whole team of specialised elves is needed for hoof convergence

Coming to the faults of a Father Christmas Reindeer, the take-off is vertical but the stopping and landing spaces are long. And then in order to get one, or at least be able to spot one, you will need to have been on good behaviour for a whole year!

How much does it cost?

It is a special series, limited to just nine examples. Then, to put a Father Christmas reindeer in your garage, you have to take into account the obligation to change your residence to Rovaniemi in Lapland, Finland and to wear the uniform, strictly red. And, again, you have to factor in work shifts during the holidays. No overtime!
