UK: VW unwraps sleek new SUVs just in time for Christmas
Two more Black Edition models join the brand's lineup in Britain.

It looks like Santa traded his sleigh for something with a bit more horsepower. Volkswagen is rolling out some shiny new toys for car enthusiasts in the United Kingdom, unveiling the Tiguan Black Edition and T-Cross Black Edition. Both models are already available to order in the UK.
The special edition models take the already snazzy R-Line trims and dial up the drama with black accents and eye-catching York alloy wheels – 18-inch on the T-Cross and a whopping 20-inch on the Tiguan. The lighting game is strong too: both SUVs come equipped with IQ.Light matrix headlights, capable of lighting up the road for up to 500 metres, and LED taillights with dynamic turn signals.

The T-Cross Black Edition offers two petrol engine options. There’s a 1.5-litre TSI with 115 PS for a smooth ride, available in manual or automatic, or a zestier 1.5 TSI with 150 PS if you’re ready to put the pedal to the metal.
For those who want more growl in their SUV, the Tiguan Black Edition serves up two 2.0 TSI engines with DSG automatic and 4Motion all-wheel drive. You can choose between a brand-new-to-the-UK 204 PS version or go full throttle with the 265 PS powerhouse.
But it’s not just about the looks and power. The Tiguan Black Edition adds a driver assistance package, featuring tech like Lane Assist and Emergency Assist to keep you and your passengers safe. The T-Cross Black Edition, meanwhile, throws in a Pure White paint option at no extra cost, for those who like a splash of contrast with their black-on-black aesthetic.
The T-Cross Black Edition starts at £29,985, while the Tiguan Black Edition’s price tag begins at £46,605. And if the Black Edition lineup sounds familiar, it’s because Volkswagen’s been rolling them out like greatest hits, joining the ranks of the Polo, Taigo, T-Roc, and Golf Black Editions introduced earlier this year.
